Damiana ( Turnera diffusa or Turnera aphrodisiaca ) is a small shrub native to southern Texas, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The leaves of the plant are harvested and dried. Damiana has a long history in traditional herbal medicine, especially in Mayan, Aztec and Mixican Folk medicine and is used as a mild aphrodisiac, to support mood balance and relaxation and is sometimes used for digestive issues, urinary tract health, and respiratory complaints.
